The users manual is poorly written by someone who uses English as a 3rd language. The PVR feature is equally as clumsy as the guide. The channel guide is clumsy and non-intuitive. Ease of Use: 1* - This is where it falls flat. The audio/video quality for all channels is very good. Performance: 5* - The ATSC tuner receives all of the local channels without issu es - even the furthest away with the weakest signals. I turned it on and started using it within moments. Set Up: 5* - It was easy to connect and set up. It also has a front-side USB port for external hard drive. HDMI, Component video, Coax Digital Audio, Composite video, RF Out, Stereo audio. Connectivity: 5* - This connects to the antenna and has a variety of output options. This satisfies my requirements but it has many drawbacks. I was looking for something inexpensive that would allow me watch over-the-air HDTV. I have an older 32" HDTV that does not have ATSC tuner (many of the early models came with NTSC tuner). I have been using the HomeWorx HW-150PVR for a few weeks now. Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned The tuner seems as stable or better than the TV's internal tuner. I like the fact that it has a signal strength function in the "info" button for the current channels that my 42" LCD Westinghouse doesn't have. The layout of the remote is not optimal but I will get used to the button layout eventually.

It turned on and off, records in full 1080p using about 6 GB per hour of recording time. I read many posts about the PVR/DVR function and ended up using a 100 GB 2.5" PATA hard drive with a USB case through a powered USB hub so that the box doesn't have to supply power to run the external hard drive. This hooked up easily and has a loop through setting for the antenna eliminating my need for a splitter for my RCA antenna. So I bought one with a remote, HDMI cable. I found this one with fairly good reviews and it was rated as a good value. I searched for DVRs for TV channels broadcast over the air OTA.
